I made this print in my public art: printmaking class, where we had a big steamrolling event at the end of the semester. We all carved 4-foot by 4-foot MDF reliefs and drove a steamroller over the top to transfer the print. At this time, this was the largest piece of work I had ever worked on and it was exciting seeing it all come to life. I chose the subject because I got into bird watching and it was so exciting to learn all the different birds in Kansas; I wanted to create a piece to mix my passion for birdwatching and art.
